TRACK #440:
Halloween by Exchange
We’re gonna kick off our final block of the season here with another Heavy Metal Halloween, cause there seems to be absolutely no end to Metal bands pumping out songs about the Eve of All Saints.
This rare one is a Shindig exclusive that we posted up to DigTV last year, and it comes from Italian metal heads Exchange. Discogs doesn’t seem to know much about them other than they hail from Milan, and this EP, Time Slips Away, was the only release to their name.
As we’ve said so many times before, Exchange, with their one musical shot, chose to bless us all with and ode to Halloween. At least they say “Halloween,” and it sounds like they’re talking about Halloween. Can’t say I understand every word here. It’s in English, at least I’m fairly sure, but it’s still tough to suss out everything they’re saying.
What I do know is that lead singer Norberto “Norby” Vidari is singing about his mask, and if we’re talking about Halloween masks, it’s time to dig into old Shindig mainstay, Halloween III.
While looking for good bumpers to use, I stumbled across an old airing of Halloween III from TNT’s Monster Vision back in the 90’s, and let me tell ya, ole Joe Bob ain’t too kind to the flick. To be fair, his take is completely in-line with the the generally held view concerning Season of the Witch (especially at the time), which was (and still is in places) largely negative. It is still a little wild how straight up disrespectful he is to the movie, though. Whatever Joe Bob.
I haven’t watched any of his revival shows, but apparently this is an opinion he still holds and talks about there too. Well, at least he stayed consistent, I’ll give him that.
This is obviously not our opinion here at Halloween Shindig, so we’re gonna let ole Conal Cochran do the honors of kickin’ off our final stretch of Halloween 2026.
Here’s Exchange with Halloween!
